So you want to be a Jet City Rollergirl?
Great! In order to join the ranks of the beautiful and bruised, you must complete Booty Camp! Booty Camp is an 8-week camp designed to train you to play the game, see how our league works, and get to know Jet City.

Here are the deets:

Time frame

• Next camp starts in Fall 2010. Register on the right to be kept informed on what dates to look for!
• This eight week booty camp will help prepare new skaters with the requirements necessary to try out for the Jet City Rollergirls.
• All practices will take place at the Everett Skate Deck. A minimum number of practices will be mandatory in order to complete/graduate booty camp.
• A final practice schedule will be presented to you once you are accepted into Booty Camp.
• Practices times are as follows (subject to rink availability). See attendance policy in our FAQ for more information.
  • Saturdays 10:00am - 12:00pm
  • Sundays 6:30pm - 8:30pm
  • Tuesdays 9:00pm - 11:00pm
  • Thursdays 9:00pm - 11:00pm
  • Off-skate training is required once a week on your own schedule

Requirements

• All participants must be 18 & out of high school, female, and physically able to participate in a full contact sport.
• Current personal health insurance is required
• Your skating skills will be evaluated to determine eligibility for placement in Booty Camp and/or for placement in the Advanced Placement program. The new Advanced Placement program is available for experienced skaters who are already solid in basic derby skills. Eligibility will be determined by our league coach.
• While we certainly won't force you to try out for Jet City, the Booty Camp is designed for people who intend to try out for the league.

Gear requirements

Equipment needed to successfully participate in Booty Camp:

• Skates
• Helmet
• Knee pads
• Elbow pads
• Wrist guards
• Protective mouth guard
• Gear bag
• Water bottle

Sorry, we cannot provide rental skates or gear. You must come with your own stuff.

Skills learned in the 8 week program:

• WFTDA basic skills requirements & skills testing
• Communication both on and off the track
• Healthy care of the athlete (proper diet and hydration)
• Proper wear of protective gear
• Gear and skate maintenance
• WFTDA rules
• Practice of basic derby strategy

Fee

• The total cost of Booty Camp is $155 which includes dues for the 8 week course and manditory WFTDA insurance (personal medical insurance is required in addition to WFTDA). Payment is due on the first day of Camp. CASH ONLY.
• This covers rink time, a Jet City Booty Camp t-shirt, and a certificate of completion to show off to your friends.
• When you pass Booty Camp, you will be entitled to tryout for the Jet City Rollergirls at the end of the 8 week course. (***Please note passing Booty Camp does not guarantee you to a spot on Jet City Rollergirls.***)
• The booty camp fee does not include any gear or skate rentals.
