Hotty Hunter #M-16

Team: Camarao Harem (Carly's Angels)

Position: Mainly jammer sometimes blocker (I'm still working on my hitting skills)

Favorite drink: I'm a Guinness girl. I love good dark beers. SmartWater when I'm skating

Brief BIO-real or derby persona: I was concieved on the hood of a 69 Camaro and was raised by my hunting family in Montana. My sharp shooting skills led me to career as a bounty hunter, but I quickly specialized in hunting down heart breaking hotties. Carly knew my skills would benefit the Camaro Harem so she brought me on to her team. During the day my cover is being a web-designer.

JCRG: How did you come up with your derby name and what does it mean to you?
HH: Hunter is my last name and I am a fan of the actress Holly Hunter. So I knew I was going to play off of her name. I had three contenders but couldn't decide which one to go with. Right after I joined the league my uncle became very ill. I was flying down to LA a lot and missing my new derby life. The whole time he was in the hospital I told him all about roller derby. I am sure he got tired of it but he was a captive audience. The last day I saw him alive I told him I couldn't decide on my name. I listed the names for him and he said he liked Hotty the best. I am glad I let him make the final decision. Everytime I hear my name called out it makes me feel like he is there with me.

Hobbies: Derby has definately taken time away from some of my hobbies but I love photography and travelling. I also enjoy (most of the time) working on my fixer-upper house. Yes, I know how to use power tools without having to go to the hospital.

JCRG: How long have you been skating?
HH: I skated a lot as a kid and in my early teens. I did some roller blading as an adult.

JCRG: What committee do you belong to, and what is your function
HH: I am the head of the Web Committee. I am responsible for this web site you are at right now. I receive content from many sources on the league and from my committee and then I bring it all together. Stay tuned I have lots of cool stuff planned.

JCRG: Why did you join derby?
HH: I read an article about Rat City a number of years ago and thought it would be interesting to go see sometime, but I didn't even consider playing the sport. Then, back in March of 2007, a friend of mine was filming a documentary about Jet City. He called me up and said "you have to check this out it is perfect for you." So I did and he was right. I had been looking for something new to get involved in and roller derby had everything I was looking for.

JCRG: What is your favorite aspect of derby?
HH: I was never considered athletic growing up so it is great to be part of a team sport where I can be accepted and enjoy without having to be a hardcore athlete. I love the femininity and toughness of this sport.
