Teeny Bopper
Number: Top40
Team: Camaro Harem
Position: Jammer Killer!
Favorite drink: Champagne!! I can drink you under the table in Cooks! For real!
Hobbies: I don't have time for Hobbies outside of derby! I do have a fierce vintage dress collection and I eat so many peannutbutter and jelly sandwiches it might be considered a hobby to some?
JCRG: How did you come up with your derby name and what does it mean to you?
TB: Teeny is a play off my first name. It takes me back to the days in 7th and 8th grade when I use to go roller skating with my friends-- the true beginnings of the Teeny Bopper you know today. It also reminds me of how awesome the sport is-- that size doesn't matter, only how much you want it.
JCRG: How long have you been skating?
TB: I started skating about 2 years ago @ PFM (potential fresh meat- a place where new skaters go to learn the basics of derby). Only a few months later I got recruited by Jet City and the rest is history!
JCRG: What committee do you belong to, and what is your function?
TB: I am currently the captain of my team. I love them all very much they inspire and challenge me everyday! I am also the person in charge of the bout posters, finding artist, coordinating with them, and providing general design guidance. I also do general graphically oriented league projects such as helping to update the league logo!
JCRG: Why did you join derby?
TB: I have a few close friends from High School who play derby-- they loved it so much they convinced me to try it! I moved to Seattle after graduating college and didn't know very many people. I wanted something to do where I could get exercise and meet people all at once! It totally worked!
JCRG: What is your favorite aspect of derby?
TB: Wow where do I start? I love how derby is constantly challenging me, I think I can't do something and I work really hard to prove myself wrong! I also love the grass roots-- volunteer run aspect of derby. We all are so committed to this sport we are willing to work hard to be able to do what we love the most! I love how I get to hang out with the coolest women around-- women I may not have known otherwise. I love how derby is more than just a sport it helps build life lessons that can be taken with you to other aspects of your life such as work, or family life. I really could go on and on and on ...
JCRG: Any other information we should know about you?
TB: I am one of the newest members of the Bombers! I plan to help show the world what JCRG is really made of!
